CELEBRATE!!!!
All 3 babies are finally home! Connor came home first on Monday, May 22, Paige followed on Monday, May 29, and Bryce finally on Wednesdy, June 7. It has been a long 6 weeks of going back and forth to the hospital so we are glad that is finally over. However, we must say we will miss the docs and nurses at St.V's. They were so wonderful and we feel so blessed to count them among friends.
CONNOR came home weighing 6 lbs 7 oz, and 4 days later at his doc appt. he weighed 7 lbs 2 oz. He is doing amazingly well and is also known as "Mr. 3 chins". Feedings are definitely agreeing with him. We think he is almost up to 8 lbs now. He seems to be pretty laid back and doesn't require a lot of attention at this point. He is too cute with his chubby cheeks (a dimple in each one),his dark hair, dark skin and what we think are going to be brown eyes. He is sleeping anywhere from 4-5 hours at night and takes great naps during the day.
PAIGE came home weighing 6 lbs 4 oz and 2 days later at her doc appt. she weighed 6 lbs. 11 oz. Their pediatrician is thrilled with their weight gain. We think she is over 7 lbs now. Paige was so tiny in the beginning and so frail looking. Now it is so fun to see her finally getting some rolls. Her cheeks are nice and round and her blue eyes are so big when she is awake. She doesn't like to miss out on ANYTHING! I tell her she is like her dad...nosey, but he reminds me they are just "curious". Call it what you will, she doesnt miss a trick. She also is going about 4-5 hours at night. I really can't do a lot of complaining about that.
BRYCE came home on Wednesday (FINALLY) weighing 6 lbs 10 oz and we will go for his first check up on Monday. Hopefully, he is gaining like the other two. What a sweet baby, my Bryce. He was so sick with the premature lung issues and when he caught a cold in the hospital he was set back even more. He has fought the fight before him and he has won! I think he is going to be spoiled because he LOVES to be held. He is a real cuddle bug, and we are making up for lost time.
Bryce has huge blue eyes (the nurses called them his "bassett hound eyes"), fair skin and blond hair. He looks like Zack's twin. He also seems to be pretty laid back. He loves to be talked to and he will watch our faces and listen as we talk. Even when he was so sick in the hospital and he would fuss, all we would have to do was lean over him and talk to him. Instantly he would calm down and listen. Right now Bryce is going 3-4 hours at night but give me another week or so, and I'll have them all on the same schedule!
What fun we are having with the 3 of them together. We lay them on the floor together and they are like magnets. Paige likes to lean on them and put her hands on them. The other night we laid them together and Paige tried to suck on the other end of the paci that was in Connor's mouth.
I'm sure you can imagine how excited Courtney , Lindsay and Zack are. They didnt get to see much of the babies when they were in the NICU since they weren't old enough to go back. The girls are wonderful with them. They love to hold them and help feed them. Zack, on the other hand, well...let's just say we have to keep our eye on him ALL THE TIME!!!!!! He is thrilled to have us home again and we can barely put him down. Poor guy! It's been hard on all of them but they are doing great!
What a blessing we have been given and we are so looking forward to these days, months and years ahead. Our lives will never be the same and I am grateful for it.
We will try our best to keep this blog updated but finding the time is so hard. Did i really need to say that? Thanks for your constant prayers and other means of helping us get through this. We love you all!
